5 years in

So a couple of weeks ago the 5 year mark on the build quietly slipped by.

I have been struggling lately with it. The build has suddenly become to feel endless which is silly really when in fact the end is finally in sight.

After finishing the engine hatch framing last week, yesterday I glued on another section of the desk.

Here are a few photos.

Progress update 28 Feb 2016

Not a lot but some progress.
I have found and purchased some hinges for my engine hatch
I have started on strengthing the deck beam the hatch will hinge from. Here's a photo but you can't see much
I have finished building the side console for the throttle to go in.  I have made a little booboo with it. I cut a hole to make a little storage tray and I have made it too big. Still dreaming up plans to deal with that.
I installed one of the two bilge pump outlet skin fittings.  The associated bilge pump is already installed so now it's just working and plumbing to complete that.
I have figure out how I am going to do my engine hatch and will hopefully make a start on that during the week.
I have secured some more of the steering hose route and have installed the second exhaust hose.

Progress report

Quote a lot has happened recently.

The exhaust hoses are 3/4 fitted
The raw water inlet plumbing has been started
The front cockpit fit out is well along the way
The steering hoses have been secured for about 50% of the run
The dashboard is in and the steering pump fitted and bleed.  I have working steering now.

I have been agonizing over the fuel tank again.  I had pretty much convinced myself to buy a new one but the best quote I have had was for $640 + GST and freight. So back to agonizing over it some more.

Had one of those middle of the night thoughts. The stroke of the throttle unit I have recently bought might not be the same at the stroke of the engine throttle.  Turns out I am right is about 2.6:1 so now I need to locate or manufacture a ratio adjuster. Another thing added to the to do list.

And lastly some progress photos

Another long overdue update

I'm not much good at this blogging thing.....been about 5 months since my last post.

Since my last post the major milestone is that I have finished relocating the shaft hole and now have the engine sitting in it final position (bar some fine adjustments).  This has been a work of many months to first get the hole in the corret place and then making engine logs and getting the engine into position.  Somewhere along the way I measured my shaft incorrectly and it ended up being 30mm short, but I fixd that with a flexible coupling that is 32mm thick.

A few photos. This was taken during one of the many trial fits.  I'll try and find a photo of it in position.
